Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 190°C

Step 2

In small bowl cream together softened butter and sugar

Step 3

Beat in eggs and vanilla (if nervous about getting egg shell in mix, crack eggs into small bowl first and then add)

Step 4

Add the dry ingredients slowly to wet ingredients and mix until cookie dough formed

Step 5

Shape cookie dough into ball with hands and roll out with rolling pin onto lighly floured surface to 3/4 inch thick

Step 6

Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes, but if no cookie cutters just make golf-sized balls and roll with hands

Step 7

Place cookies onto baking tray and leave 1.5 – 2 inch space between each one
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until very slightly golden – mostly white though

Step 8

Once baked, remove tray from oven and carefully pick up greaseproof paper with cookies on and place on cooling rack
Cool completely before decorating

Step 9

Make buttercream frosting in a small bowls by creaming the butter and slowly sieving in icing sugar
Once smooth add in selcted buttercream flavouring (vanilla or almond)
Spread on cooled cookies however you like
Make it your own with selected sprinkles/ coloured icing tubes

If other decorating ingredients selected (coloured icing tubes, sprinkles) decorate away to your hearts content
